Is it weird that I missed working full time? Getting back into this 40-hour-a-week groove is going to the easiest of the bagillion transitions I'm going through right now. It has only been a day but I already love this company!

- This company reminds me so much of Wayfair, my last co-op, that I felt like I was sitting in the same new hire presentation. When explaining what Wayfair was to people who didn't know, I used to say "it's like Amazon, but for furniture" which isn't entirely true but it got the point across. Now that I work at Amazon, I kind of feel like I'm cheating Wayfair or traded it in for an upgrade. I'll never forget you Wayfair! Or my vast knowledge of pendant lights and metal finishes!
- It's dog-friendly, meaning it's totally normal (& encouraged?) for people to bring their dogs to work...awesome.
- The campus is HUGE and modern and cool but my building is only like 5 blocks from my apartment, which will be great when it's pouring so I can just sprint to work.
- I got a laptop! My first one ever from a job! This is huge!
- This also means I will probably have to work from home and at weird hours.
- My manager is really nice and so is everyone on my team! I'm in Marketing Analytics so I'll do a bunch of number reporting and stuff. I have my very own "door desk," like everyone else at the company, which is literally a piece of wood that could be made into a door with 2x4s as legs (they're really frugal there).
- During a break in orientation, there was a huge line at the men's bathroom and none at the women's. Explain that one to me. I've never seen that in my life. I don't know what it means.
- And my badge nametag isn't hideous so that's always a plus:
So much more to come so stay tuned! Let me know if anyone has any questions about anything!
